REVERIE STATEMENT
And in the stream the longleaved flowers weep, and from the craggy
ledge the poppy hangs in sleep. Give us long rest or death, dark death, or
dreamful ease." - ALFRED LORD TENNYSON
Inspired by this
poem, these images were created by montaging two negatives of enlarged views
of poppies and women floating in water with black veils. The
poppy connotes sleep, forgetfulness, death and oblivion yet contains the seeds
of renewal, regeneration, life and beauty.
